The “Beat”


THe BEATWINTERHAVEN – On August 14, 2014, in the City of Winterhaven, a theft was reported near Indian Rock and Picacho at approximately 1:28 p.m. The vehicle belongs to Ricak Cote, who was staying at San Carlos Motel.

The vehicle was a Chevrolet Colbolt with Arizona license plates and tinted windows was stolen, along with a black Craftman box with drills and other tools.

WINTERHAVEN – On August 17, 2014 at 1278 Flood Road at around 10:12 a.m. a trailer was broken into by an unknown suspect, the trailer window was unscrewed and pulled open, approximately $20.00 in penny’s and nickels was taken. No evidence was found at the scene.

COACHELLA- A burglary occurred on Niland Avenue in Coachella; the reporting person stated his brother’s residence was broken into. The reporting person did not know when it happened but states that around $100,000 worth of tools were taken. He stated that his home was completely ransacked.

The reporting person wanted a report taken for a burglary to her deceased father’s residence. After further investigation, the responding officers, Ramon Nuno, J Lara, and G. Castellon were able to find out that the reporting person’s sister had requested a report on items missing.

After they spoke with the sister, they advised her that she had a report taken for burglary; she also made contact with deputies in reference to a civil issue between her father’s ex caretaker. The reporting person was unaware of the sister’s previous report and advised that she will speak with her.

There is also a civil issue over the house, both parties were counseled and advised of their options.
