WESTMORLAND – Brawley Police arrived at a Westmorland apartment complex Saturday, June 14, at 3:30 p.m. in response to a call that shots were fired.
Upon opening the apartment door, they found fresh blood.
Three units responded and found the apartment cleared of any victim.
There was blood inside and it appeared as if there had been a fight.
Reports were taken of a male subject leaving the apartment with blood on his face.
The suspect was reported to be an Hispanic male wearing a green shirt.
Additional help was called in to look for gun shot residue.
EL CENTRO – A complaint came into the sheriff’s office about a resident paying a $498.72 bill to an unknown person representing himself as working for the IID.
The person said they were going to turn off the power if the bill was not paid. The resident paid $500 in cash. The sheriff’s office is investigating this as fraud.
SEELEY – Sunday, the office of Jerry Preece Jr. Farms called the sheriff’s office to report a theft of 6 hay savers valued at approximately $1,800 and 9 packages of yellow stampede twine. The theft occurred between Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s logs, there was no suspects.
