Woman accidently stabs husband during domestic dispute
CALEXICO – On October 31, Yasmin Jaras arrived at the Calexico Police Department to report she accidently stabbed her husband. A report had already been taken the previous day, and it was determined that the stabbing occurred during a domestic dispute. Jaras was arrested on the spot and transported to the county jail for felony spousal battering and assault with a deadly weapon.

Suspicious person reported outside school
HOLTVILLE – On November 1, Sheriffs responded to a suspicious person call reported outside Holtville Middle School. Per the principal, the suspect, a black male adult, was parked across the street from the school in a black Chrysler observing students who were in P.E. One student mentioned it looked like the subject was messing with an unknown object (weapon or phone) while continuously rolling the window up and down. Officers were unable to located the subject upon their arrival.

Possible shots fired
HOLTVILLE – On November 1, Sheriffs responded to shots fired in the area of 4th Street and Maple Avenue. The person reporting said he heard 5-6 shots fired, however, he could not see anyone. Officers searched the area and spoke to neighbors who suggested the probable cause was fireworks.
