Hit and run in Winterhaven
WINTERHAVEN – The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Yuma PD call on Sunday, October 16 requesting assistance on a Hit and Run with injuries on Baseline Road in Winterhaven, CA. Yuma PD identified the car as a Hyundai with Arizona plates. The Yuma PD wanted to know who was driving the vehicle and if there were any injuries. The Yuma PD also reported the subject of the Hit and Run running away from the scene wearing a gray shirt.

El Centro fire
EL CENTRO — The EC Fire Department personnel were called to a brush fire in the 800 block of Pico Avenue Monday afternoon, October 17.

The fire was reported at about 3:45 p.m. and was initially thought to be a structure fire. Arriving fire fighters found that all the hydrants in the 800 block of Pico Road had been turned off and there was no immediate access to water to fight the blaze. El Centro Fire Department put out a second alarm and along with a tanker truck from Imperial , were able to shuttle water to the scene. One out building behind the residence was damaged by the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire fighters were recalled to the scene at about 7:25 P.M. Monday when the fire flared up again.

Three-vehicle accident
EL CENTRO — The ECPD are investigating a three-vehicle accident that resulted in injuries to two drivers.

The accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m., Monday, in the 100 block of West Main Street. A small pick up truck was traveling eastbound on Main Street when the driver apparently lost control, drifted into the westbound lanes and collided with a larger pickup truck. The first truck then crossed back into the eastbound lanes and collided with a third vehicle. The drivers of the pick up trucks were transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation.
