CALEXICO – On Friday, September 2, Jesucen Martinez Ruiz allegedly brandished a knife at her elderly mother and told her she wanted to gouge her eyes out with it. Ruiz’s mother notified the police of her daughter’s threat and upon officer’s arrival, the suspect did not deny the charge. Ruiz was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats and booked into Imperial County Jail.

BRAWLEY – At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 5, Brawley police officers responded to a call at 631 N. 13th St about a reported stabbing.  According to the city police logs, the 51-year-old victim and suspect Mark Hensley allegedly had a dispute which resulted in the stabbing.  The victim suffered a non-life threatening stab wound to the upper torso, according to logs, and was transported by REACH helicopter to the nearest trauma center.  The alleged suspect, Hensley, was booked and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

CALEXICO – On Monday, September 5, Calexico police received a report about an unknown suspect trying to break through a back door of a residence and also the theft of a blue truck dolly and a bicycle from the property.  The reporting party came to the Calexico Police station and positively identified the items at 4:17 a.m.  Charges are pending for the suspected robber who was found in possession of the dolly.
