NILAND â€” On August 10, Imperial County Sheriff’s deputies received word about a man in need of medical attention at a house on 6th Street near Bombay Beach. Reportedly, the caller had gotten into a physical argument with the neighbor who was bleeding when officers arrived. The victim told officers he was attacked and taken down with a blow to the back of the head. According to reports, when officers attempted to bring the original caller into custody, he refused to cooperate and ran from the premises. The injured man was flown to Pioneers Memorial Hospital for treatment to a laceration that went from the back of his head to his right ear.
CALEXICOÂ â€” On August 7 at 9:27 a.m, a Calexico Police officer performed a pedestrian check at the 700 block of Paulin Avenue in Calexico. According to reports, the subject had a confirmed warrant issued out of the Imperial County Sheriffâ€™s Office. The suspect, Francisco Rios, was taken into custody and transported to the Imperial County Jail for housing.
