CALEXICO – On July 27 an officer was dispatched in reference to a reported carjacking that occurred in El Centro at 2026 North Imperial Ave. The suspect, who was the victim’s former boyfriend, allegedly surprised the victim inside the vehicle and pushed the victim out of the driver’s seat.

The suspect then reportedly fled with the victim’s vehicle, northbound on Imperial Avenue toward Aten Road.  The victim’s vehicle is a silver 2010 Nissan Cube (CA 6PTD933) with the wording of “LA” on the rear window. A courtesy report was taken, however the case was forwarded to the El Centro Police Department. The suspect’s name has been withheld due to the on-going nature of the case and referred to another agency.

CALEXICO – A Calexico police officer was dispatched to a residence on July 28 at 5:56 a.m. in reference to a suspected kidnapping. The reporting party had received a phone call from an unknown male subject stating in Spanish that reporting party’s daughter had been kidnapped at her residence in the city of Casa Grande, Arizona. The unknown male subject reportedly demanded a ransom of $50,000, or else he was going to do bodily harm to the daughter. The police officer then contacted the daughter and discovered that this incident was not true. No action was taken.
