IMPERIAL VALLEY- Westmorland has been ranked number four on the FBI and Census Bureau’s list of safest cities in California for fewest crimes per day while Imperial was ranked number one in odds for burglary.
According to the FBI’s annual report Burglary odds for Imperial have dropped by 66.7%. Westmorland’s crimes per day rate are at 0.07.
As part of their annual report Crimes in the United states the FBI reveal the estimated number of violent crimes reported by law enforcement during 2014 has dropped by 0.2% and the estimated number of property crimes has decreased 4.3% when compared with date from 2013.
In the United States an estimated 1,165,383 violent crimes and an estimated 8,277,829 property crimes were reported by law enforcement. Larceny-theft accounted for 70.8% of all property crimes report, burglary for 20.9%, and motor vehicle theft for 8.3%. Financial losses suffered by victims of these crimes were calculated at approximately $14.3 billion.
