Sheriffs arrest nine for Internet Crimes Against Children


Imperial County SheriffIMPERIAL COUNTY – Nine individual arrests have been made during an Internet crimes against children operation, for luring a minor for sexual exploitation, attempting to commit sexual conduct with a minor under 14, and attempting to commit molestation of a minor under 14.

Sheriff Raymond Loera will be holding a press conference tomorrow, March 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff’s Memorial Training Center building.

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Homeland Security Investigations, the El Centro Police Department, the United States Marshals Service, the United States Border Patrol, the Escondido Police Department, and the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office conducted a child exploitation operation dubbed “Desert Guardian”.

All participating agencies are members of the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is dedicated to help state and local law enforcement agencies to develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children.

All cases have been filed with the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office.
