PALM SPRINGS – Burke Rix Communications is proud to announce that Senator Kevin de León will make his first official visit to the Coachella Valley as California Senate President pro Tempore-elect at the 6th annual Southern California Energy Summit on Friday October 10th at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
The theme for the 2014 Energy Summit is The Great Energy Debate: Beyond 33% and the Future of the Salton Sea and will unite over 600 industry, government and educational sector leaders throughout Southern California to foster clean energy opportunities and create a sustainable region.
Senator de León has long been a champion of renewable energy and will discuss the State’s energy future and efforts on the Salton Sea.

The first day of the Summit on Thursday October 9th will feature a free Green Building Bus Tour hosted by the Coachella Valley Association of Government’s Green for Life and CV Upgrade programs.
Participants will be shown the latest in sustainable design features, clean energy solutions and smart home technologies with tours of residential and commercial properties throughout the Coachella Valley.
Day two of the Energy Summit on October 10h, will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center and feature a educational sessions, keynote presentations, panel discussions and an exhibit hall of cutting-edge green technologies and vehicles.
Key topics to be discussed include California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), climate change and drought, green building, advancing rooftop solar, utilizing big data to build smart cities, the Desert Renewable Conservation Plan (DRECP), and clean transportation to name a few.
