EL CENTRO, CA – The Imperial Valley Community Foundation is proud to announce that it is accepting applications from graduating high school seniors for the Mary Harmon Scholarship.
The Mary Harmon Scholarship Fund was established in the summer of 2011 upon the retirement of Imperial Valley native and longtime 4-H Leader, Mary Harmon. Families and alumni of Imperial County’s 4-H clubs have provided contributions to help establish the Fund in Mrs. Harmon’s name as a way to thank her for her leadership and service to the County’s youth and to help provide scholarship opportunities to college-bound 4-H members.
The application and criteria can be found on the Foundation’s website, ww.ivcommunityfoundation.org. The application deadline is Friday, June 7, 2013. Applications must be received, not postmarked, by 4:00pm on June 7th. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Individuals and businesses interested in making a donation to help sustain the Mary Harmon Scholarship Fund are invited to do so, and their support is appreciated. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law, and the Fund and Foundation welcome public support and contributions.
Donations for the Mary Harmon Scholarship Fund can be made payable to “Imperial Valley Community Foundation” with the memo “Mary Harmon Scholarship Fund,” and mailed to the Foundation’s office at 1440 W. Main St. in El Centro, CA 92243.
