San Diego State University Imperial Valley Supports Scholarships Speakeasy Style

SDSU LogoCALEXICO – San Diego State University will be holding their Annual “Taste” to benefit student scholarships.  This once a year opportunity raises much-needed funds, providing support for higher education in our Valley.

This year, the Taste of Mystery will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016.  The theme is Speakeasy, 1920’s Prohibition Era at the Imperial Center in Heber.  Sponsorships and individual tickets are available.

As you step onto the Red Carpet, you are transported to an Era of long ago, entering the Roaring 20’s – Kevin Kelly will be tickling on the keyboard while Gloria Brister belts out the melodies of Billy Holiday. The theater group – Murder Mystery Co. will perform a “Who Dun It” during a formal, sit down dinner – you are the detectives and participate in finding the culprit.

Quiet time…Vintage movies are rolling in the Oswalt CPA Ol’ Theater.  Take a Mug Shot Photo, by Borderlife in sepia tone or a gangster selfie. Dress to have fun and a “Roaring Good Time!”  Specialty antique items will be available.

Your secret password code to enter the Speakeasy VIP Lounge is… “Scholarships” – Shhhhhhhh!

The party will be one not to miss and of course, funds raised support the students, doubling your reason to attend or donate.  Sponsorships provide businesses with PR and they receive tickets – call 760 – 768-5569 for levels.  Individual tickets are $50 and tables can be arranged for groups of 4, 6, or 8.  Visit Facebook – SDSU IV Campus 3RD Annual Scholarship Fundraiser – for the look and feel of the Era and a buy ticket link.  Tickets are also available at the SDSU-IV campus and Valley Chambers.
