Roberta Violet Mamer

A Memorial service will be held at Frye Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., November 2, 2015. Following her service, lunch will be served at Del Rio Country Club.
Former Brawley resident Roberta Violet Reed Mamer of Escondido, passed away peacefully at her home, October 22, 2015, at the age of 84 from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis, (COPD).
Born February 19, 1931, Roberta moved to Brawley to marry the late Gordon Mamer in 1950. She was known for her ‘green thumb’ in growing orchids. She enjoyed gourmet cooking owning a vast collection of cookbooks. Roberta also had a great love for reading. Her favorite vacation spot was spent in Carmel with her husband and she enjoyed cruising to fun destinations with her family.
Roberta was a life member, and served many terms as past president, of Pioneers Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. She was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Del Rio Country Club. Roberta is survived by her daughters, Susan Mamer and Elaine Mamer-Gackle of Escondido, son Gary/Liz Mamer of Brawley; grandchildren Amy Lawson, Shauna Gutierrez and Shane/Missy Lawson, Ryan/Chelsea Mamer and Brett Mamer and great-grandchildren Daeman and Noami Gutierrez, Destinee and Enrique Jr. Ponce, Autumn and Jaxxon Lawson and Brooke Mamer. She is also survived by her caregiver Jessica Hernandez of Grace Home Care.
