AÂ Memorial serviceÂ will beÂ held at Frye Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., November 2, 2015. Following her service, lunch will be served at Del Rio Country Club.
Former Brawley residentÂ Roberta Violet ReedÂ Mamer of Escondido, passed awayÂ peacefully at her home, October 22, 2015, at the age of 84 from complications ofÂ Pulmonary Fibrosis,Â (COPD).
Born February 19, 1931, RobertaÂ moved to Brawley to marry the late Gordon Mamer in 1950. She Â was known for her ‘green thumb’ in growing orchids.Â She enjoyedÂ gourmet cooking owning a vast collection of cookbooks. Roberta also had a great love for reading.Â Her favorite vacation spot was spent in Carmel with her husband and she enjoyed cruising to fun destinations with her family.
Roberta was a life member, and served many terms as past president, of Pioneers Memorial HospitalÂ Women’s Auxiliary.Â She was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Del Rio Country Club.Â Roberta is survived by herÂ daughters, Susan Mamer and Elaine Mamer-Gackle of Escondido, son Gary/Liz Mamer of Brawley; grandchildren Amy Lawson, Shauna Gutierrez and Shane/Missy Lawson,Â Ryan/Chelsea MamerÂ andÂ Brett Mamer and great-grandchildren DaemanÂ andÂ Noami Gutierrez,Â DestineeÂ andÂ Enrique Jr. Ponce, Autumn and Jaxxon LawsonÂ andÂ Brooke Mamer. She is also survived by her caregiver Jessica HernandezÂ ofÂ Grace Home Care.
