Robber Apprehended for Food Theft in El Centro



el-centro-police-department logoEL CENTRO — On Monday, September 19, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the El Centro Police Department received a call reporting an armed robbery in the 1000 block of Adams Avenue.

The caller stated the suspect, described as a black male adult, had taken food from the location without paying and described the male as wearing no shirt, and shorts in the design of an American Flag.

When employees approached the suspect, he allegedly threatened them with a brick he was holding in his hand and left the store with the food.

Officers responded to the location and found a male matching the description provided by store employees. Officers detained the suspect without injuries, and he was positively identified as Corey Cromer, a 29-year-old from Los Angeles, California

Cromer was booked at Imperial County jail for the alleged robbery.
