Ralph Duarte Acuna
November 1, 1950 – April 18, 2016
Ralph Acuna was born on November 1, 1950 in Brawley and resided in El Centro when he passed away on April 18, 2016.
He was married to Margarita Gomez Acuna on November 15, 1980 in Brawley.
Graduated from BUHS with the class of 1969. He was a Vietnam combat veteran with the army from 1970 to 1971. He graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University in the class of 1973. He was a teacher at Westmorland Elementary from 1974 to 1980. He worked as an Immigration Detention Center Officer from 1980 to 1981, he also worked as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspector from 1981 to 2014.
He enjoyed music of all kinds, especially oldies, trios, and mariachis. He also loved dancing, BUHS sports, Dodgers Baseball, Rams Football, breakfast foods, current affairs, active lifestyle and Coors Light.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley.
The Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary at 7:00 p.m.
The Mass Service will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at St. Margaret Mary Church at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Bernardo Lara.
The Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at Riverview Cemetery after the Mass.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Margarita Acuna of El Centro, his son Ralph G. “Chachie” Acuna of San Francisco, his son, Guillermo “Willie” Acuna of Los Angeles, his daughter, Rebecca Alejandra Acuna of San Diego, and his daughter, Baleria Magana of Brownsville, TX.
