el-centro-police-department logoEL CENTRO – Last night around 8:30, officers from the El Centro Police Department responded to the 700 block of Woodward Avenue to investigate a 9-1-1 call of an assault.

The officers encountered two victims at the scene.  The first victim, a 39 year old male resident of El Centro had several stab wounds to his upper torso.  The second victim, a 49 year old male also of El Centro suffered bruises to his body as if he had been in a fight.  Both victims were transported to a local area hospital for treatment and later released.  Neither victim had significant injuries.

Patrol officers with the help of detective personnel took statements from the victims and some witnesses.  Conflicting statements were given by the involved parties, making timely investigation difficult.

“Right now, we are unclear as to where the assaults took place and we have no suspect information other than three unidentified males”, said Commander Jeff Mason.  “We are seeking the public’s assistance with our investigation and we hope someone maybe able to give us a clear picture of what happened”, Mason said.
Anyone with information about this assault is asked to contact the El Centro Police Department’s Investigations Division at 760-337-4525.
