(August 31, 2012. Brawley) After evacuating the facility during the recent swarm of earthquakes in the Brawley area, Pioneers Memorial Hospital reopened at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Over 400 hundred earthquakes were recorded Sunday, August 26. Pioneers Memorial Hospital evacuated all patients via ambulance or helicopter to other facilities including San Diego and Palm Springs.

Steve Campbell, CEO of Pioneers, said that they were ready to open the areas that were not being used the last four days. California State licensing officials from San Diego were expected to arrive earlier Thursday morning, but were experiencing car trouble.

“ER, ICU, Lab, and X-ray have been open all week,” said Campbell. “Everything is ready for us to open today.”
