BRAWLEY – After months of waiting, Panno Road is finally open.
The utility companies that have service at the intersection of Panno Road and Highway 86 caused the delays.
Those delays kept the March opening from happening.
Panno Road was finished about a month ago, but CalTrans had some more hoops for the City of Brawley to jump through before it would OK the opening.
CatTrans requested that some of the signs be changed on the light bars to different configurations for lane identification.
A handicap ramp was also requested at the southwest corner.
CalTrans gave their OK to open Panno Road Monday.
The opening of Panno Road is hoped to spur more new business in the area as well as giving residents and businesses of the area better access.
