Victor Jaramillo Nava

Victor was born on December 19, 1926 in San Luis Potossi, Mexico and went home to the Lord on November 26, 2016 at UCSD Hillcrest Hospital in San Diego.
Visitation services will be held on Sunday, December 4, at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6-9:00 p.m. with a rosary prayer officiated by Father Ray Roque at 7:00 p.m.
Mass services will be held on Monday, December 5, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Niland at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial services at the Riverview Cemetery.
Victor was raised and attended school in Mexico where he met Eufemia Martinez. They married in October 1948, in Brownsville, Texas, where they lived for several years and then headed west to California and in in 1957 eventually settled in Niland. God blessed them with thirteen children whom they loved dearly.
He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad Company for 45 years as a laborer until his retirement. Victor was a longtime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Niland. For the past six years, he resided in Brawley with this youngest son Salvador, his granddaughter Ericka and her children.
Victor had multiple skills as a mechanic, carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He was an excellent handyman. He enjoyed cooking traditional Mexican food and raising farm animals such as cows, pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits, pet dogs, and birds. Victor enjoyed gardening, reading, music and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
Victor was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life Eufemia in 2002, children Teresita in 1948, Salvador in 1967, Jose Luis in 1984, great granddaughter Dorina in 2014, grandson Juan Manuel in 2015, and brother Manuel Nava in 2016.
He is survived by daughter Maria de Jesus Padilla of Niland, son Elifonso and Linda Nava of El Centro, daughter Maria Candelaria and Frank Aguilera of Brawley, daughter Guadalupe and Victor Soto of San Diego, son Victor and Yolanda Nava of Imperial, daughter Marta and Sergio Rivera of Niland, daughter Aida and Juan Hernandez of Calipatria, son Juan Antonio and Monica Nava of Niland, daughter Maria Elena and Christian Froelich of Calipatria, son Salvador Nava of Brawley, sister Guadalupe Nava of Harlingen, Texas, 28 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
