Rosario â€˜Chaloâ€™ Borquez Otero passed on November 8, 2016, surrounded by family.
Rosario was born on January 6, 1921,Â in the small gold mining town of La Lluvia de Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico, to parents Rosario OteroÂ and Camerina Borquez. In 1940, he moved to Mexicali, Mexico, with his first wife and children.
In 1964 he married his second wife, Margarita Lopez. They had 9 children.Â
Rosario was intelligent, creative,Â andÂ hard working. HeÂ loved his family and worked diligently to provide them with theÂ best opportunities.Â He taught his children honesty, kindness, and hard work. He was a skilled woodworker, carpenter, and farmer, and passed his knowledgeÂ of these trades onÂ to his children which would forge their eventual careers.Â
Rosario amazed everyone with his strength and vitality. At 95, he was still keeping pace with his grandchildren during walks and activities, including dancing. He was a true family man. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his loved ones.Â
Rosario is survived by his wife, Margarita; children, Rosalva, Teresa, Margarita, Argelia, Matilde, Juan, Mario, Adrian, Jesse, Leonila, Luis, Ernesto, Ricardo and Fernando; grandchildren, Miriam, Steven, Brandon, AJ, Alyssa, Ryan, Aileen, Devin, Mario, Johan, Johally, Naomi, Ian; great-grandson, Mason, and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.Â
Rosario will have a funeral service, Sunday, November 13, atÂ Frye Chapel and Mortuary from 6-9 p.m.
