MANUEL SANCHEZ LOPEZ
November 14, 1920 – December 19, 2016
Our beloved Papa Manuel Sanchez Lopez, 96, of Brawley, California, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2016.
Manuel was born to the late Enrique Sanchez and Maria Guadalupe Lopez in Zacatecas, Mexico. Manuel married the love of his life, Blasa Cardenas in March 1951 in Mexicali, Mexico.
Manuel worked as a chef in many restaurants and retired from Lidco, Co. in 1985. Manuel serviced his parish Santa Maria Margarita and later at Our Lady of Perpetual Help as a devoted humble Christian.
Manuel had a passion for cooking and music; he played the tuba and saxophone during his younger years, and was in the Banda de Guerra band.
Manuel is survived by his daughters Julia Salazar (Manuel), Gloria Hernandez (Alfredo), and Maria de Jesus Condit; his sons Manuel Sanchez (Maria Esther), Enrique Sanchez (Theresa), and Jose Guadalupe Sanchez. Manuel is also survived by his grandchildren Lupita Rivas, Cruz Manuel Salazar, Martha Hernandez, Loana Hernandez, Blanca Salazar, Hellen Hernandez Bonavilla, Ernesto Pinedo Jr., Freddy Hernandez, Brian Pinedo, Denise Sanchez Pittman, Vanessa Sanchez Hill, Enrique Sanchez Jr., Kate Kimberly Pinedo Schmad, Manuel Sanchez Jr., Sarah Sanchez, Ben Casey Pinedo, Rosamaria Ferrel, along with his 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Manuel was preceded in death by his wife Blasa C. Sanchez on March 28, 1998; his parents, Enrique and Guadalupe Sanchez; and his siblings Carmen, Herminio, Enrique, and Maria de Jesus.
