CATHEDRAL CITY – The NHL’s St. Louis Blues are practicing at the Desert Ice Castle in Cathedral City before taking on the Los Angeles Kings Thursday.
The Blues practiced Monday morning and will hold practices at The Ice Castle Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:45 a.m., Ice Castle employee Tim Kinsey told City News Service.
“We leave the doors open. Everyone can come and watch,” he said.
Some local children were given hockey sticks and pucks today, and the Blues posted a photo on Twitter of a boy getting an autograph from right wing T.J. Oshie before today’s practice. A team representative couldn’t be immediately reached, but the team’s Twitter account said the Blues are “spending a few days in Palm Springs before beginning a three-game road trip on the West Coast.”
The Blues play the Kings Thursday night at Staples Center.
Kinsey said Olympic figure skater and 2014 U.S. national champion Gracie Gold and her sister Carly also practiced at the Ice Castle today. He was unsure of their plans for the rest of the week.
