National Day of Prayer today

EL CENTRO – The 62nd Annual National Day of Prayer (NDP) is Thursday, May 2nd, 2013.

The 2013 theme is “Pray for America,” emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men.

To further highlight the theme, Matthew 12:21 has been chosen for this year’s Scripture, “In His name the nations will put their hope.”

“We want to encourage all praying Christians to come  out and pray tonight at  the Concert of Prayer,” said Nancy Fields, Coordinator of the Imperial County National Day of Prayer Task Force. “As always, our country needs the guidance and direction of our God and we as Christians want to get outside the walls of our own churches and meet as a body of Christ in order to pray for our schools and local, state, and federal governments that all influence our culture. We believe that all starts in individual hearts.”

The Imperial County NDP events begin with the Salvation Army Prayer Breakfast, free to the public, 7:00 am at Ryerson Hall, 225 Wake Avenue, in El Centro.

At 6:30 pm the Youth Prayer Experience at God’s Gang, 411 E. Aurora, El Centro.
