2013 National Day of Prayer at Christ Community Church
EL CENTRO â€“ Various events will occur on Thursday, May 1, to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. Beginning the day of prayer will be Major Jerry Esqueda of the Salvation Army. He will hold their annual breakfast at Ryerson Hall starting at 6:30 a.m.
Youth For Christ will offer a young persons prayer experience in the evening while Pastor Hernan Lopez will have a Spanish Language Worship and Prayer in Calexico.
Christ Community Church in El Centro will host the National Day of Prayer Task Force Concert of Prayer starting at 7:00 p.m.
Nancy Fields, chairman of the Imperial County National Day of Prayer, said, “We have a very special program planned at Christ Community. There will be eight different pastors speaking from throughout the valley and from different denominations. Also, young Emma Walker from Brawley, will open by singing the national anthem.”
Leading in praise and worship will be the Imperial Valley College and Career Group, a non-denominational band comprised of young adults either in college or already in the work force.
