EL CENTRO – The Imperial County National Day of Prayer Task Force is pleased to invite the Imperial Valley to 2015’s “Lord, Hear Our Cry!,” Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m., at Christ Community Church, 580 W. Orange Avenue, El Centro, California.
This year’s event, Lord, Hear Our Cry! , marks the 64rd Annual National Day of Prayer and the eleventh consecutive “Concert of Prayer” service sponsored by the local Task Force. To further highlight our theme, we’ve chosen I Kings 8:28 as our Scripture for this year: “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.”
The “Concert of Prayer” includes prayer and worship, bringing together a multi generational event from throughout the Imperial Valley. Representing many denominations and backgrounds, this year’s attendees will join millions uniting in prayer in thousands of events from coast to coast. This year the Task Force is partnering with our brothers in Christ from our two local prisons. The service will be streamed into both Calipatria and Centinela State Prisons. There will be speakers from both prisons.
Besides a time of prayer on seven points: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church, and Family, there will be praise and worship by the Imperial Valley College and Career Worship Team under the leadership of Johnathan Perez with pre service music beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. KXO’s Gene Brister will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies. Local Pastors from throughout the Imperial County will come together in prayer and unity leading us in one of the seven points.
The local National Day of Prayer activities begin with a 6:30 a.m. Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by Salvation Army. The Salvation Army Breakfast will be held at the Salvation Army Community Center at 4th and Ross. Donations will be accepted. Additionally, all Imperial County youth are invited to attend “The Prayer Experience” which is being sponsored by Youth for Christ, Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., to be held at God’s Gang, 411 E. Aurora Dr., EC.760) 3527070.
The National Day of Prayer Task Force is the JudeoChristian expression of the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families.
