IMPERIAL — Metalachi returned to the Imperial Valley Mid Winter Fair & Fiesta Wells Fargo Main Stage last Tuesday, as a raucous crowd of nearly 1100 were in hand to witness the worlds first and only Heavy Metal-Mariachi mixed musical group.
After a lead-in from Metalachi Hype Man Warren Moscow, Metalachi went on to perform their Mariachi-Metal versions of popular hits including Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” ACDC’s “Hells Bells”, and Poison’s rock ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorns.”
IV Fair fans were treated last year to a Selena Quinanilla tribute band and although they are not scheduled to return, Metalachi provided fans with a rousing Selena Tribute of their own.
“I thought the band did a very good job with their performance,” said local fair visitor and new Metalachi fan, Jake Keaton, on the concert.
“It was very funny,” he added on the comedic elements of the show.
Metalachi contains five members to its group. Lead singer, Vega De La Rocka, Guitarist Pancho Rockafeller, El Cucuy on Trumpet, Ramon Holiday also on guitar, and Maximilian “Dirty” Sanchez on Violin.
