A Life Well Lived – A Life Well Loved

March 15, 1921 – August 27, 2014

Marjorie Ogden, 93 passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, August 27, in the home of her daughter, Melinda in Upland.  Her family and her beloved Sammy and Sassy were with her when the Lord came to get her.

Marjorie Ogden was born in Burk Burnett, Texas.  Her parents moved to Glendale, Arizona when she was very young and she grew up there and graduated from Glendale High School.

Shortly after high school, she met the love of her life; Bill Ogden and they were married on July 12, 1940 in a double wedding ceremony with his brother, Wayne.

In 1941, during the war, they moved to Long Beach because Bill was in the Navy.  Marge worked in a factory to help support the family and this country.  In 1945, after the war, Marge and Bill moved to the Imperial Valley with Bill’s brother and sister-in-law.

The four of them purchased and operated the Alamorio Store for many years.  Many people remember Marge for her reputation of making the best bologna and cheese sandwiches in the area.

The Ogden’s were also active in the Magnolia/Mulberry community for 30 years before they retired and moved into the city of Brawley.

They spent many years traveling the country in an RV, visiting long-time friends in Hawaii and their summers at their cabin in the Barton Flats area.  In her golden years, Marge was either enjoying her family at the beach, the cabin or taking many other mini-adventures with her daughters and granddaughters.   She also absolutely loved her domino nights with her dear friends.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, her five brothers, her husband Bill and her daughter, Marsha Seals.  Her survivors are: daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Smith of Farwell, Texas; daughter, Melinda Ogden of Upland, CA., son-in-law Jerry Seals, Brawley, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 3 adopted daughters: Shirley Jones, Billie Patton, and Teri Awad.
