Margaret L. (Maggie) Currier, 95, of rural Mantorville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Pine Haven Care Center, Pine Island, MN.

Maggie Lou was born August 14, 1920, in Olmsted County to Harry and Agatha (Campbell) Dehn. In 1938, she graduated from Byron High School. Maggie Lou earned her RN nursing degree from the Rochester State Hospital.

She wed Howard “Pete” Currier on November 6, 1942. They made their home on the Currier Farm and raised 8 children. She resided there all her life. Maggie was a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church, Mantorville. While there she taught Sunday School and belonged to the Night Circle. She was also a member of the Bethel Birthday Club.

Maggie chose to live her life by saying her prayers, loving those in her presence, full of pride for her children and grandchildren, telling the best stories, welcoming all for a visit and a piece of cheese, saying “I love you”, laughing and having the most amazing faith in our Lord and Savior. She will be dearly missed by many.

Survivors include her children, Kay Johnson of Eagan, MN, Susan (Bill) Gay of El Centro, CA, Tom (Micheale) Currier of St. Paul, MN, Ike (Brenda) Currier of Kasson, MN, Jay Currier of Mantorville, MN, Mary Benson of Byron, MN and Ben Currier of Mantorville, MN; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Daniel; her parents; her brother, Bill Dehn and two sons-in-law, Jim Benson and Dave Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 515 Walnut Street, Mantorville, MN on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:30 am with a visitation one hour prior. There will be no reviewal. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville.

The family prefers memorials to the First Congregational Church – Mantorville or Evergreen Cemetery – Mantorville.
