IMPERIAL COUNTY – MANA de Imperial Valley will be hosting its Annual Mixer and Membership Drive for potential and current members on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 6:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express in El Centro, CA. Any individual with a genuine concern for the needs and issues relevant to Latinas is welcomed to join MANA at this event.
Any individual regardless of race, sex, national origin, religion, age, or political affiliation who is committed to the mission and goals of the organization is eligible for membership. The event is free to MANA members and $10.00 to non- members. New, continuing or returning members that pay their membership dues before or on the day of the Mixer will be entered into a drawing for a Southwest Airlines ticket courtesy of Southwest Airlines!
Locally, MANA de Imperial Valley has successfully implemented programs like the Las Primeras Awards Gala & Scholarship Fundraiser. In 2015, MANA de Imperial Valley awarded thirty-four $500 local scholarships to local students pursing degrees at the college and university level.Â To date, MANA has awarded $107,000 in local scholarships.

MANA empowers Latinas through leadership development, community service and advocacy and is inviting all those interested in joining this organization to join the MANA Board at the mixer to
learn about the organization and join this national community of Latinas actively working to create a better quality of life for all Latinos. Applications for membership will be available on site for $40.00 for a one-year membership and are also available on the MANA website at www.ivmana.org .
MANA, a National Latina Organization, was founded in 1974 as the Mexican-American Women’s National Association. MANA’s original intent was to provide a voice for Mexican-American women atÂ the national, state and local levels. Since then, the organization has expanded into a diverse group of Latinas in all areas of political, social and professional fields. MANA is the single largest pan-Latina organization in the United States.
