The MAG Coalition FUNraiser Program will kick off on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Imperial Valley College in room 2734 at 6:00 p.m.
The goal is to help students at local valley schools be MAGnificent by raising the overall school spirit, personal and school wide academic achievement, and introduce students to community service projects.
“Of everything in high school, I wanted a letterman’s jacket the most. I can’t thank enough everyone who made it possible for me to get this. Thank you for believing in me and showing your appreciation,” said BUHS student Melysa Chacon.
With the belief that letterman jackets change the attitude and paradigm of students, the MAG Coalition helps deter students from a negative path and introduce them to a variety of positive experiences.
Knowing the economic impact buying a letterman jacket for their child can have on families, MAG Coalition financially comes alongside families so students can promote their achievements through their letterman jacket.
“We hope our community will continue to support our Valley-wide participants by buying tickets and inviting MAG Coalition to partner up during community service events,” said Yulil Alonso-Garza, founder of MAG Coalition. ” We’re also looking for businesses to partner up to assist students in meeting their goals.”
Cost of tickets is $5.00 each
MAG Coalition also gives senior high scholarships along with other programs. Students must complete 43 hours of community service to participate and earn a MAG Patch. The hours can be completed as a group or as a family.
