STILLWATER, Okla. – Gabbee Lofton, Brawley, California, has been selected to serve as a student success leader (SSL) in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources for the 2015-2016 academic year.
The SSLs are a select group of students passionate about agriculture and natural resources, and work directly with their fellow CASNR students. Prospective SSLs go through a rigorous application process, training and interviews before being selected for their team.
Lofton is a sophomore majoring in agricultural leadership at Oklahoma State University and will serve as a Success Coach for Outstanding Transfers (SCOUT).
SCOUTs are a group of transfer student leaders who assist with New Transfer Student Orientation and Enrollment. They also plan professional development, academic development and social activities throughout the year for transfer students to connect at OSU.
“The SSLs are vital to the success of CASNR students before, during and after their college experience,” said Cynda Clary, CASNR associate dean of academic programs. “They operate at such a high caliber and all of it’s on a volunteer basis. They put their time, energy and
