Imperial County, Calif. — The Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) held their 16th annual Showcase & Recognition Ceremony which celebrates ROP student achievement, honors distinguished alumni, honors employment partners and showcases all IVROP offerings for the communities of the Imperial County.

The event recognized outstanding students in their IVROP career technical education (CTE) courses as well as showcasing the CTE courses offered at local high schools and other IVROP services available to Imperial County through IVROP’s grant-funded projects.

“The Showcase allowed IVROP to share with the community the classes and the programs that IVROP offers,” IVROP Interim Superintendant Edwin Obergfell said. “We wanted to focus on the great opportunities students have in pursuing career technical education and we also want to display the great work our students, teachers and projects are doing.”

“A lot of students appreciate the acknowledgement of their hard work,” said Daniela Rodriguez, IVROP Attendance Analyst and member of the IVROP Showcase and Marketing committees.

Each instructor nominated one outstanding student per class, Rodriguez said. Each industry sector also chose one overall outstanding student per sector. Sixty nine IVROP students from around Imperial County were recognized during the event.

In addition, 30 project participants, two retiring IVROP teachers, six honored employment partners and one Distinguished Alumnus – Eusebio Arballo of San Diego Gas & Electric – were honored.
