IMPERIAL – Imperial Valley College will be holding its annual Career Technical Education/Applied Sciences Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 in the area between the 2700 building and the Health Technologies building.
Visitors are encouraged to use the north parking lots and the north entrance off of old Highway 111.
The Expo is designed for elementary, middle and high school students as well as college students and people looking for work or investigating a career change.
Participants from throughout the county will receive information regarding careers and jobs in certain businesses, industry, and government career clusters as well have an opportunity to assess their potential of success in a chosen field.
IVC Departments representing over 55 degree and certificate programs will be present.
Additionally, representatives from business, industry, labor unions, public safety and government will discuss opportunities within theirrespective areas of employment.
A sampling of career fields to be present includes Air-conditioning Industry, Automotive/Transportation, Manufacturing/Welding, Electrical Trades, Health Care, Law Enforcement/Administration of Justice and Solar Energy/Renewable Energy.
It will be free to the public and there will be free parking during the event.
