IMPERIAL – Imperial Valley College Foundation has announced that its annual fundraising golf tournament will take place Nov. 13 at the prestigious and recently renovated Rams Hill Golf Club in Borrego Springs, CA.
The tournament is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event. The proceeds go directly to support Imperial Valley College students in their pursuits of post-secondary education and career training. As the state of California sees increased demands on its resources, the State’s financial support of community colleges are impacted, which directly affect IVC’s ability to meet the community’s demands.
“The success of every student is at stake, and this annual golf tournament helps us meet the need,” said Vince Signorotti, president, Imperial Valley College Foundation Board.
The tournament will allow golfers to play on the Tom Fazio-designed course described as “one of the best courses in San Diego County” by GolfCalifornia.com. It reopened last November, this time as a public course, after being restored to its former glory.
The Imperial Valley College Foundation’s purpose is to fund education through charitable and philanthropic donations and is an Internal Revenue Service designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, funded exclusively through personal and corporate donations.
Thousands of students have benefitted throughout the years from scholarships administered by the Foundation, and Foundation funds have been used for campus improvements and projects not funded by the college’s budget.
