EL CENTRO —A portion of eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) at Dogwood Road in the city of El Centro will be closed on Thursday from 9 p.m.-5.a.m., according to Caltrans. Crews will place falsework, a temporary bridge support system used during bridge construction, as part of the I-8 Dogwood Road Interchange Project.
Westbound I-8 will be closed on Thursday, April 14 during the same hours.
During the closures, freeway traffic will be diverted to the Dogwood Road off-ramp and then back onto I-8. Dogwood Road will remain open. No significant delays are expected.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously when in construction zones. Construction schedules are subject to change due to the weather.
