Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit begins Wednesday

WINTERHAVEN – On Wednesday, March 12, the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) opened their first day of the three-day renewable energy summit at the Quechan Resort in Winterhaven.


After the morning registration at the resort, bus tours were provided for the visiting guests to the many and varied energy plants in the Valley and to the potential sites available for more renewable energy development.


The day will end with the opening reception sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric at the pool alcove.


The following day will begin with opening remarks by IVDEC Chairman,Tom DuBose,  Imperial Irrigation District Board President, James Hanks, and County Board of Supervisor Chairman John Renison.


After opening remarks, the Keynote Speaker, Jonathan Weisgall, Vice President, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, MidAmerican
Energy Holdings Company, will address the meeting before panels and break out sessions occur.
