IMPERIAL VALLEY – Hundreds in the Imperial County gathered on Friday, November 11, to celebrate and honor the men and women who have served the country in military service. In Holtville, a Veterans Day Parade buzzed with excitement, waving flags, and classic cars as the city paid tribute to the sacrifice of those who had served in the armed forces. The patriotic celebration continued in Brawley, where residents came together for the dedication ceremony in Ridge Park, which was renamed in honor of Captain Scott P. Pace, a Brawley native who gave up his life in the line of duty. The city of El Centro held an Unveiling Ceremony of the newly constructed Veterans Memorial at Bucklin Park. Another service honoring military men and women could be found in the Brawley plaza, which included candle lighting and a rendition of “Amazing Grace” by local Kelly Rodriguez.
