EL CENTRO – Imperial County Sheriff Raymond Loera is pleased to announce that Lieutenant Scott Sheppeard received top honors from the State of California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) for successfully graduating from an executive development program known as the Law Enforcement Command College on May 02, 2014.
The Command College is a two year commitment that demands extreme dedication and perseverance from its attendees. Only management or executive level applicants are accepted into the program after an exhaustive interview and selection process.
Scott Sheppeard has been an employee with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years. He currently serves as the South County Operation Division Lieutenant overseeing Patrol, Investigations, Coroners, Scientific Investigations, and Crime Prevention.
Lt. Sheppeard has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University, and pursuing Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Indiana. He has completed the State of California POST management course and has received his Management Certificate.
Lieutenant Scott Sheppeard’s commitment and dedication to complete this difficult and challenging two year executive development program will not only make him more effective in his role as a top leader of the organization; but will also enable the Sheriff’s Office to be at the forefront when it comes to planning for the future impacts facing all law enforcement agencies.
