Imperial County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrest Mexicali resident for $30,000 agricultural theft.


ag stolenIMPERIAL COUNTY – On Monday, June 25, 2014 Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Investigators successfully concluded a two month theft investigation of agriculture equipment with the arrest of 34 year old Marco Andres Gutierrez-Perez of Mexicali, Mexico.

Gutierrez-Perez is suspected of stealing sprinkler heads and risers from several farms located near the Holtville area. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $30,000 dollars.

Gutierrez-Perez was arrested, processed, and booked into the Imperial County Jail for nine counts of grand theft and one count of attempted grand theft.

The victims of the thefts were contacted and notified about the arrest and future proceedings.

The investigation was completed and forwarded to the Imperial County, District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution. Bail was set at $20,000 dollars.
