EL CENTRO — The Imperial County Board of Supervisors wish to inform the public that the Board meeting previously scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2016, has been cancelled. The Board will reconvene their regularly scheduled board meetings on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
Next week, Supervisors Ryan Kelley and Michael Kelley, along with some County staff, are planning to attend the State Water Resources Control Board meeting to participate in a workshop regarding the status of the Salton Sea Management Program. As part of Governor Brown’s Salton Sea Task Force, the State Water Resources Control Board periodically holds public workshops to monitor and assess progress on the implementation of the Salton Sea Management Program.
“It’s important for the County to continuously have a presence at these workshops to remind the State of the issues we are facing and the impending dangers that are on the horizon should they not move forward with developing and implementing a plan to sustain the Sea promptly,” said District 3 Supervisor Michael Kelley.
The Salton Sea Management Program is an initiative of the Governor’s Salton Sea Task Force who has been tasked with developing a comprehensive management plan for the Salton Sea.
As previously stated, the Board meeting was scheduled to take place on November 15, 2016 at the Imperial County Board of Supervisors’ Chambers. Please note that the meeting has been canceled and the Board will reconvene on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. For more information, please visit the Imperial County Board of Supervisor’s website.
