EL CENTRO –  El Centro Elementary School District will be voting on the Charter Renewal for Imagine School at Imperial Valley on Tuesday, April 9, at Miller Hall on the Lincoln School campus at 6:00 p.m.

The school has been operating since 2010 and currently has approximately 773 students enrolled. It occupies a portion of the old mall on Imperial Avenue and has partnered with the City of El Centro to house the city library.

The school is undergoing a major transformation to improve academic performance. The school’s “A-Team” led by Regional Academic Leader, Freddie Villalon (Mr. V) will be implementing a number of strategies and best practices to better student achievement.

These include regular “Data Chats” where teachers gather together to review actual data and evaluate what works and doesn’t work with students to improve overall academic performance.

Imagine Schools is a national family of 70 public charter schools educating more than 38,000 students in 12 states and the District of Columbia.
