Holtville man arrested for drugs, stolen property and more

HOLTVILLE – On Friday, May 24, Imperial County Sheriff’s Investigators and Imperial County Narcotic Task Force Agents assisted members of the Imperial Valley Street Interdiction Team with the service of a narcotic search warrant at a residence on the 600 block of Olive Avenue in Holtville, CA.

The search warrant was obtained after agents received several complaints of narcotics being sold from the residence and its close proximity to the Holtville High School.

During the search of the residence, over one pound of high grade marijuana, scales and packaging material were seized.
In addition, investigators seized several laptops. One laptop was confirmed to be stolen on April 24, 2013, during a burglary from the 1200 block of Fiesta Avenue in Calexico. Several other electronic devices which had their serial numbers removed were seized pending further investigation.

The suspect, Jeffrey Meek, 21, from Holtville, CA, was arrested and booked into the Imperial County Jail for Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Possession of Stolen Property and Possessing Property with the Manufacturers Serial Number Removed or Altered.

The community is the eyes and ears of the Sheriff’s Office, and with their help, and in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office, criminals are arrested and a safer environment is created. The law enforcement teams are grateful for the alert and dedicated citizens of Holtville.
