CALEXICO – Holiday Inn Express celebrated a grand re-opening Thursday evening after numerous exterior and interior renovations were completed throughout the facility.
“With the investments made, it makes it that much more comfortable when receiving guests,” said Daniel Romero, chairman of the Calexico Economic Development Committee. “This spells nothing but success.”
The three-story building is located at 2501 Scaroni Road in Calexico and offers 73 rooms (29 king size beds, 19 suites and 25 double beds), along with a great room and swimming pool area.
“All of our rooms were remodeled with new furniture, bed mattress, carpet, window shades and LED lighting,” explained Irving Quevedo, manager of the hotel. “We try to keep a fresh new look for our guests to enjoy. We are proud of our brand and to be here in the city of Calexico.”
Hotel nightly rates range from $89-$139, depending on room occupancy and availability. The hotel also offers business and governmental rates.
“Most of our guests come here (to Imperial County) on business,” said Quevedo. “We are here to serve our community and make this facility as comfortable as possible for our guests.”
The Great Room is available for rent for special occasions such as weddings, quinciañeras, family reunions or business meetings.
Deputy Consul Hector E. Huerta of the Mexican Consulate in Calexico said the hotel is an important entity for the Calexico community and visitors.
Calexico councilmember Armando Real said businesses are what move the city and its economy.
“The city is here to support you in your new phase,” Real commented to the hotel officials.
