High Schools + Mid-Winter Fair =A Night of Madness

BRAWLEY – It was a night of school spirit and excitement as Valley schools packed the Grandstand Event Center to its absolute capacity for the California Mid-Winter Fair’s Annual High School Madness.

Mascot Dance off, Ring Toss, Hula Hoop and a Tug of war were part of the show and gave students from each school a chance to cheer their fellow classmates on during competition.

Each school cheerleading squad and Drum Line performed, adding to the Halftime Show/Pep Rally feel of the night.

Highlights of the night included Calexico winning both the Hula Hoop and Ring Toss competitions, A Brawley-Imperial Showdown in the Tug of War finals, which the Wildcats pulled their way to victory, and a hard to score Mascot dance competition, due to all the mascots dancing so well.

The Central Band drum line again had an amazing showing as they do any time they are performing live, but Brawley’s drum line pumped the crowd with their Mortal Kombat themed performance.

In the end, Calexico walked away with the High School Madness overall victory as judges placed them in first followed by Calipatria High in second, and Central in third.

With all Valley schools well represented, a screaming, rowdy crowd, and great performances by all, the Imperial Valley Mid Winter Fair’s High School Madness was a night to remember.
