Happy July and August to you all! As you all can see from the picture above, I have had a very eventful vacation!

For those of you who don’t know, I have been in a relationship with a beautiful girl named Ashley Boren.

It all started with a simple prayer I prayed for her at church which caught her attention and turned her affection toward me.

As she walked out into the parking lot she thought, “God, I wouldn’t mind if he prayed for me the rest of my life!”

At a later point she offered to cook dinner for my roommates and me which caught my attention! As you all know the quickest way to a man’s heart is through the stomach!

Anyway, she came over on an occasion and after an hour of talking to her I realized she was pretty amazing.

As I have gotten to know her, my respect and admiration for her has grown and has caused me to know she is a special woman.

Her relationship and love for God and others is strong and very deep. One of her favorite places to minister has been at the Oklahoma Rescue Mission where she has hannah house july 2served the children and the underprivileged.

So… on the Hawk family vacation in Colorado I took her up to a scenic outlook and asked her to be my wife! She said, “Yes.”

As we move forward in or relationship together, we will both go to Thailand for a couple months before the December 13th banquet in order to help Sangla and Supakit with the work.

As I mentioned in a past newsletter, this year has been a year of change and it will be good with all these changes for both Ashley and me to be on the ground.

Hannah House has been up and operating for the last four years which means that we no longer have any of our original girls.

Though this is sad since they will be missed, it is also very exciting as we see them growing and transitioning into their new lives.

Sangla and Supakit have been interviewing and bringing in a number of new girls which we will be able to meet and introduce to you all later this year.

Also Ashley and I will have a lot of work to do with the coffee farm. Though it may be a little premature we are hoping to have some coffee for the banquet this year!

Since there is so much to do and transition into, Ashley and I will be quitting our jobs in October and we will become full time staff with Hannah House.

We will be in Thailand for two months and then earlier next year we will take a team to Thailand with Esther Maston, Walter Colace, and my parents.

Then Lord willing, we will marry and move to Thailand along with Angel Dyson. Truly we are in very exciting times!

I just wanted to thank you all for your constant support for us at Hannah House.

I remember Ashley commenting on her visit to the Valley about how the people really loved Hannah House and the work there. Please pray for us as we plan for our hannah house july 3marriage and future move to Thailand.

Ashley and I are looking for monthly support partners.

If God leads you to partner with us you can do so by writing your check out to Hannah House and designating Jon and Ashley on the memo line. Please send all checks to: Trinity Baptist Church P.O. Box 776, Holtville, CA 92250.
