Frozen debuts as first of Imperial’s ‘Movies in the Park’ summer series

IMPERIAL -Families from around the valley gathered at Eager Park in Imperial Friday night for an outdoor showing of the movie Frozen on a big screen.

Many children chose to dress in costumes of the movie’s characters  while others wore their swimsuits and played on the splash pad.

Patty Cacatian brought her daughters to the park to watch their favorite movie.

“We’ve seen this movie countless times,” Cacatian said. “The only thing is that here, they can sing the songs as loud as they want.” Melanie and Medolyn Cacatian, 11 and 3, were ready for the movie with plenty of snacks nearby.

Along with the movie playing once nightfall hit, vendors sold snacks and drinks of all kinds. Children enjoyed the playground and splash pad, as well as coloring pages and crayons that were handed out to them

Imperial’s Movies in the Park will continue next month on June 20 with the showing of Finding Nemo, appropriately at  the Imperial Pool
