Fatal accident on Clark Rd. after rollover


CHP new logoEL CENTRO – On Friday, February 7, shortly after midnight, a 39 year old driver of a 1996 Nissan Maxima and his passenger, Ricarda Zazalo, 32, both from Calexico, were traveling southbound on Clark Road south of Willoughby Road in a 1996 Nissan Maxima.


They were traveling at an unknown speed, lost control and rolled the Nissan.


Both were ejected during the rollover and both sustained major injuries.


The passenger, Ricarda Zazalo, succumbed immediately at the scene from blunt force trauma and the driver survived the initial wreck, suffered blunt force trauma and lacerations, and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center by REACH Air ambulance.

The driver passed away shortly before 8:00 a.m.

The collision is still under investigation at this time.
