El Centro asks residents to Get Moving with Le Tour de 8th

The City of El Centro and Go Human invite Imperial Valley residents and its neighbors to walk, bike, or skate on March 26, 2016, to Le Tour de 8th, a free street festival on 8th Street between Bucklin Park and the MLK Jr. Sports Pavilion, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will showcase temporary installations of bicycle lanes and crosswalk improvements along 8th Street. These temporary installations will demonstrate how the City is planning to improve traffic safety on key corridors and make it safer for people to walk and bike. The event will celebrate active, vibrant and safe streets for everyone to enjoy.

Live music, food vendors, fitness classes, health screenings and other fun activities will be located at Bucklin Park, the MLK Jr. Sports Pavilion and at sites along 8th Street. Pets are welcome and prizes will be available for those that complete the event route by walking, biking or other human powered transportation!
