Calexico, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol continues to rescue illegal aliens making an attempt to illegally enter the United States during these hot summer months.

The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 4:45 p.m., when a Border Patrol agent on patrol encountered an individual that appeared to be suffering from heat distress. The agent requested emergency medical services for the individual who rendered medical attention and transported him to El Centro Regional Medical Center.

After being released from the hospital, the 49-year-old man was determined to be a Mexican citizen illegally present in the United States and was transported to the El Centro Border Patrol station for processing and further evaluation.

Last month, the El Centro Sector Border Patrol has rescued and saved the lives of nine individuals attempting to illegally cross into the United States from Mexico. It serves as a reminder that high summer temperatures combined with the remote and rugged desert environment can be extremely dangerous.
