Duncan Family Farms LLC is a grower of approximately 6,000 acres of both organic and conventional produce with facilities in Goodyear, Arizona, Imperial Valley, CA and New Cuyama CA. along with the areas of Southern and Central California. We believe that the primary responsibility of Duncan Family Farms is to produce clean, healthy, life-giving food. We are a privately owned business that has been growing steadily. We are currently seeking a Mechanic and a Welder to assist in our daily operations.

FUNCTIONS
Is lead technical expert on repair and maintenance tasks.
Ensures sufficient technical expertise of workers to perform likely tasks.
Interprets specifications and work orders for workers.
Monitors availability of tools, equipment and supplies required for operations.
Reviews job orders and preventive maintenance schedule to determine work activity.
Schedules repair personnel hours.
Inspects work under way for conformance with operational standards.
Ensures proper completion and testing of finished work.
Ensures methods and procedures that optimize operations, minimize operating costs and ensure safety.
Comply with all food and farm safety procedures, LGMA and company policies.
Manages shop parts and supply inventories.
Manages farm fuel inventories through daily accounting.
Monthly reporting of all farm fuel usage.
Responsible for creation and completion of Work Orders.
Conduct weekly educational “tailgates” as prescribed by the DFF Worker Safety Team.
Maintains service and repair records.
STEPS
Step 1
Coordinate with the DFF Worker Safety Team to ensure all OSHA and EPA requirements are met and complied with.
Insure through education and example that that all shop personnel work in a safe manner.
Facilitate and coordinate activities of mechanics, welders and helpers in a large outdoor farm shop
Receive, delegate and facilitate the completion of PM schedules, repairs, modifications and upgrades for company managed tractors,
Harvesters, large trucks, personal vehicles and other farm implements and machinery.
Able to establish or adjust work procedures to meet varying seasonal and/or company needs using knowledge of capabilities and capacities
Of employees, tools and machinery.
Determine the priority and sequence of operations.
Work under intermittent Supervision.
Step 2
Understand and Inspect work in progress and completed, to ensure conformance to specifications.
Apply knowledge of company and shop procedures, tool setup and operating techniques to ensure efficient and quality maintenance and
Repair services.
Recommend and implement changes to improve operational safety and efficiency.
Facilitate employees to keep accurate records of time, materials and work.
Step 3
Work as a team member with other departments.
Able to work with Inventory Coordinator to issue purchase requisitions for materials and parts necessary to perform work.
Ability to enforce and adhere to company policies and practices, educate employees on safety standards and requirements.
Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist employees in solving work problems.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of farming equipment
One year verifiable experience in a fleet service operation preferred
Ability to multi-task
Able to work under typical vegetable production pressures.
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Valid Driver’s License mandatory.
